Reporting a Wellbeing Concern

wellbeing-2

Beyond Blue states that “Wellbeing is about balance in all aspects in life.  It encompasses the health of the whole person – physical, mental, social, and emotional. A person’s wellbeing can change moment to moment, day to day, month to month and year to year. It can be influenced by what’s happening in a specific moment and the actions that people take.  As with positive mental health, wellbeing is most likely to flourish in a supportive and inclusive environment – a safe place where diversity is acknowledged, respected and seen as adding to the vibrancy and strength of the entire community.”

Riverbanks College B-12 is a thriving and inclusive community that lives our values of kindness, belonging, collaboration and grit.  Wellbeing is fundamental to the learning process and we want to create kind and resilient life-long learners who will thrive today and in tomorrow’s world.

Thrive Time
We will explicitly teach wellbeing through our Thrive Time program.  Thrive Time is a structured, planned approach to wellbeing for learning and life that seeks to support all students through a systemic approach. The program fosters a positive school culture and equitable learning conditions for all students. The aim is to develop and support the social and emotional wellbeing of all students, with tiers of support that emphasise appropriate early interventions which enhance positive outcomes for all and fostering a thriving and inclusive community.

Students develop the skills and knowledge to feel confident in exercising their student voice responsibly, develop competencies to build resistance, positive mental health, and become leaders of their own learning. Thrive Time deepens students understanding of Riverbank College B-12 core values, and facilitates their intrapersonal, interpersonal, and cognitive skills to engage, inspire, and empower them to meet challenges they will inevitably face in today’s world.
